7/6/2023 0 Comments I hear the sunspotI remember in Volume 2, this distance they had (while they were still unsure of their relationship at that point) was already explored practically throughout the volume. So while I loved returning to this story and follow Taichi & Kohuei again, I can’t help but feel that this volume in terms of its story & relationship between both of them really took a step backwards! They are planning a trip together, but when Taichi is surprised by his invitation to an employee retreat–he knows what a big opportunity it is for him! Kohuei tells him how great that is, but deep down doesn’t know how to put into words how distant and lonely he’s been feeling about their relationship. Limit 1 focuses now on them finally being together, but its been months since they’ve actually hung out regularly, now that Taichi is working more.įrom the beginning its easy to see that Kouhei is feeling that he wants more out of their relationship, but Taichi is nervous about the speed of their relationship. They overcome a lot emotionally/internally, but by the end of volume 2 are able to admit their feelings. This series centers around college students Kouhei (who’s also hard of hearing) & Taichi (the more outgoing one) who meet due to a random circumstance, become friends, & find it hard to put into words that they may be falling for each other! Not only was it the first manga I’d read in such a long time, but it was the series that got me back into reading manga again! (& this series honestly had me in tears at points □✨) So a little background about me & I Hear The Sunspot! I first read it back in 2016 before it was translated (known as Hidamari ga Kikoeru) and fell in love with the story and its characters. My Thoughts: I Hear The Sunspot Limit 1 goes into great length of exploring the two main characters Taichi & Kouhei their own personal journeys, and the development of their relationship! This volume is a continuation of the I Hear The Sunspot Series! In this new addition to the I Hear the Sunspot series, Kohei continues on as a student, while Taichi makes his way out into the working world to pursue his own calling and the two begin a new life together! Kohei eventually begins to see Taichi as more than a friend, and after he finally confesses his love to Taichi, the feelings become mutual. But after meeting the exceedingly cheerful Taichi, he gradually begins to embrace a more positive outlook on life. If it wasn’t for you, I never would’ve known the world was such an amazing place!” Because of a hearing disability, university student Kohei had made a habit of distancing himself from those around him. Summary: “You rescued me from a world without sound. I Hear the Sunspot: Limit Volume 3 will be available anywhere fine books are sold.I Hear The Sunspot: Limit 1 by Yuki Fumino (Sunspot #3)Īvailable Through The Book Depository: I Hear The Sunspot Limit 1 Anyone who has felt different or alone will feel heard by this remarkably compassionate story, which has attracted not only manga fans but young adult readers far outside the typical reach of a manga series. The manga has been lauded for its nuanced representation of disability, and this latest entry into the series features special empathy towards the troubles of children, the elderly, and broken families. The story is led by Yuki Fumino’s cinematic drawings and sharply translated dialogue. Most importantly, it brings the romance between Kohei and Taichi to a satisfying conclusion that will leave the hardest of hearts in tears. It features the greatest growth between the boys yet, as they struggle to overcome disability, insecurity, and family trouble. Volume 3 begins just after Kohei announces out of nowhere, right when the relationship is blossoming, that the two should spend some time apart. One Peace Books describes the third volume as follows: One Peace Books announced that the tear-jerking conclusion to I Hear the Sunspot: Limit will be released on April 13, 2021! The previous I Hear the Sunspot manga garnered widespread popular and critical acclaim for a moving love story between two young men, the hard-of-hearing Kohei and the eternally-optimistic Taichi.
